That'll drive more traffic to the wiki spot directory, thus making it more likely that people will participate in Wiki Spot. 2007-09-21 02:19:23 The point is to be a directory of wiki spot wikis — not a directory of every wiki. There are many such lists / directories of wikis out there that are well established. There is a value in providing a list of all wiki spot projects, because of technical and philosophical reasons, and that's what the wiki directory provides. Maybe we should rename the page, but I think within the context of the wiki spot hub, and given the explainatory text, that it is probably clear enough? —PhilipNeustrom

Doing so will help to build and strengthen community among community wiki participants. Refusing to list other community wikis enforces Wiki Spot isolationism in a way, and I don't see how that benefits anyone or anything.
Wiki Spot isn't just about hosting wikis; it's mostly about building community wikis. Hosting is just a means, not an end. So let's not shut ourselves off from other folks working on complementary projects. —Graham.Freeman

I'm thinking the list is to foster and attract the community of the wiki, which would likely help if a, say, French speaker could just find all the wikis with French entries. —JabberWokky

You can delete it. Go to "settings" (look for the link in the upper right hand corner), go down to the bottom, check "Disable this account forever" checkbox and then click the button "Disable Account". —

No, you can't engage in commercial promotion. However, if there is a city wiki about the city, you can let people know about the business by creating an entry... just avoid promotional wording. Think "tour guide" rather than "advertisement".
