Okay, so maybe these are more akin to "get-togethers" than "parties," but we ought to be having fun (and drinking beer appropriately!) The general idea is that a group of people get together someplace and all work on stuff related to Wiki Spot. People help other people get stuff set up, come up with ideas, bounce things off each other, and just try and help out and have a good time.

I'll be in Davis this weekend and I think we should meet up and work on stuff. Can someone suggest a good place to meet up at? Does Friday night work for anybody? If you're in Davis and want to work on things this weekend, get in contact with me. Some ideas for stuff we can work on:
-
Helping people getting Sycamore installed on their machine for hacking
-
Developing a bunch more themes, including a good white theme and a theme that will work well with a large graphic.
-
Setting up postgresql replication
-
Any of the feature requests that want to be eaten up
-
Work on the basics of the gui editor stuff
Come if you're interested in helping out or learning how to help out. Also, I'll bring a bunch of stickers!—PhilipNeustrom
I guess I'll offer my place as usual. However, I'm in a new house, living with DavidPoole and WilliamLewis. So if you're not afraid of trolls, feel free to come over. We even have a bedroom that's not being used right now, and wireless + cabled internet. Dave and I will be out on Friday night, but will be around all day Sat/Sun. —BrentLaabs
update: not going to davis this weekend, afterall. I think we need to plan this a bit more in advance for it to be successful. Brent: is your place available the coming weekend and/or the weekend after that?
~ Yes, our place should be available at both times. Feel free to come over, ~Dave

Meeting up in Davis at Cafe Roma by campus. We'll start at 1PM and keep going until we get kicked out. Things for stabbing:
-
Anything on to do.
-
Carefully go over the wording of all the major pages. Make vision more clear and major points more obvious. Decide on a front page design.
-
Come up with some kick ass themes. Find some free-usage images that make good backgrounds, akin to what reid is doing at trianglewiki's banner. Simple things make a big appearance difference.
-
Also, update current themes to our 1.0 CSS we've got on No Interwiki entry for: zac.
-
A "light" theme using white. Fix up simple theme and add a tad of color for links, etc. No icons.
-
Lot of other theme possibilities.
-
Write up a timetable and game-plan for launch with details for each step. Send out to mailing lists.
-
Whatever ya'lls feel like.
Small summary of how it went down
Philip got into Davis late on Saturday which kind of derailed things, but the weekend was productive regardless. Charles, Brian, Gonzalo, Philip and Brent all met up in a sociology room and played with stuff. Charles + Brian got started on the sacramento wiki and gave some general feedback. Gonzalo played a bit with the CSS to get acquainted with things, and Brent looked over the main wikispot hub.
Then we headed back over to Brent's place, met up with David, and kept on doing random things until Sunday late in the evening.
-
Added to the hub site. Still needs a lot of copy work and more vision.
-
Got started on some radical new themes. They need polish, but this shouldn't take too long. The main idea is that we want people to have a core set of themes to choose from and to inspire them.
-
Found bugs, yay. Most of 'em fixed, but you know how that goes.
