Welcome! I took a quick stab — without having an idea of what you're going for — at making that logo_background you uploaded look good:
Here's two CSS files I messed around with (only about 4 minutes of work)—
I modified the "simple" theme. It's was just a starting point, you'd surely want to take it much further, etc. If you wanted to stick with the default theme, I'd suggest playing around with the logo more to make it flow better.
By the way, we've got a mailing list (linked on community discussion) and an FAQ page for asking questions or talking to other folks! If you want help making a theme or logos, some people might be able to help you out — just give someone an idea of what you're looking for and we can help you work toward that.
