2009-07-24 17:00:27 Hey there and welcome to Wiki Spot. It appears that the wiki you created, heartstoppers, does not comply with our Community Guidelines. The wiki appears to be created to promote Heartstoppers Haunted House, an exhibition that appears to be commercial in nature as evidenced by the fact that admission is charged and nowhere in your literature does it state that these haunted houses exist solely as a fundraiser for some non-commercial organization. Secondly, your wiki does not appear to have any intended community. It appears that the wiki is being used to host an informational website, not to foster collaboration amongst a community. If I am mistaken, please leave me a comment on my page. However, if you agree that your wiki violates our community guidelines, I ask that you disable your wiki. You can do this by going to Wiki Settings/General, clicking the check box that says "Delete this wiki" and clicking "Save Settings." —WilliamLewis
2009-07-24 17:32:18 William, thanks for your notes. Heartstoppers is a community event that is entirely volunteer ran, and the community around it is quite strong. We use social media websites like Facebook and Twitter to rally the troops of actors, makeup artists, construction workers, electricians, etc that all put in some time to help out. I figured that WikiSpot would be a great way find some new people, once they click over to out web site or social media page, the ability to sign up is there for everyone. We do collect a fee for tickets, but all that money just goes back into the event for the next year or we have ran special nights where we work with non-profits. We are not a real non-profit, but we never have a profit, if you know what I mean! Hope that clears it all up, thanks again. —JoelW

Yes, but you've locked down your wiki so that no community can develop there. It's as if Twitter locked all their users from being able to send messages or Facebook locked every user out of their own accounts. —Evan 'JabberWokky' Edwards

2009-07-24 17:39:17 Oh, sorry, didn't know I locked it. How can I unlock it? —JoelW
2009-07-24 17:43:13 I think i found it, I check the box for logged in people to read and edit. Is that it? —JoelW

Yup, looks good. You can probably foster some great remembrances by having a section where people can add their stories about shows and themes in the past, or add their photos and such. You can really get a fantastic wiki going if you give people a few places to get started and some examples to work from. If you have any technical questions, just ask... and welcome to Wiki Spot! —Evan 'JabberWokky' Edwards
2009-07-24 17:48:28 Thank you for the clarification. If you need any help with editing on here, just leave me a message. Happy editing. =) —WilliamLewis
2009-07-24 17:50:18 Cool, thanks for your help. I will look into getting some of our people on here and start adding content, someone with wiki skills, unlike me! Thanks for the idea. —JoelW
