2009-03-28 23:02:41 Hello there and welcome to Wiki Spot. You appear to be a bit confused. Wiki Spot hosts wikis, web sites that anyone can edit, for communities that meet our community guidelines. This wiki in particular contains documentation about the service. Because your entry was off topic, I deleted it. It may be at home on one of the wikis we host, however. If you have any questions, feel free to click on my name and leave me a comment. —WilliamLewis
2009-03-29 01:04:43 Unfortunately, we can't help you out that easily. We don't host individual pages for individual people. We host entire websites for communities to collaborate with. Your options are as follows:
-
You post your entry on a wiki where your entry is on-topic. There are only two community wikis currently in Texas on Wikispot, houston and fwd, neither of which appear to be particularly active. You may be able to post your entry on a wiki hosted by an organization other than Wiki Spot.
-
You create a wiki for your community and post the entry there. If you do this, make sure that you meet our community guidelines and this isn't just a personal project of yours with nobody else involved.
Frankly, it looks like you're trying to use the wrong tool for the job. It looks like you're just trying to post some text on the internet as an individual. A traditional website, like you can get through Geocities, is likely to suit you better. Wikis are about communities collaborating, not an individual posting something just to sit there. If your instructor is requiring that you use a wiki, they are probably missing the point of what a wiki is. If you guys created a wiki for your class and helped each other out, that would make a bit more sense. And we'd be happy to help you out with that.
I'm sorry if this causes you any problems doing your assignment. —WilliamLewis
