Houston, Texas is the fourth largest city in the United States. In such a large city, it's easy to be overwhelmed by a sense of community-obscuring anonymity. We want to build a more informed citizenry and a closer community. There is also a wiki for the nearby suburban community of Friendswood.
The Houston Wiki is intended to address unmet needs of the Houston community. This includes, but is not limited to, providing a community-built source of information about the following:

Local businesses, politics, people, art, and cultural landscape

Neighborhood, student (all levels), ethnic, common interest, religious/spiritual, volunteer and civic organizations

Community projects, public spaces, venues for dates

Detailed information on housing, schools, libraries, etc.
