-
wikispot.org - $20
-
daviswiki.org - $20 (Can probably stop paying for DNS hosting for this one and use godaddy's nameservers, as it's not as super-duper important as wikispot.org)

Colocation costs: ~$65/month. Paid monthly to every three months in advance. Sometimes there is reconciliation afterward.
(evening of 27 Oct 07) When we first racked Baxter (the main Wiki Spot server), we didn't have the tools or procedures in place to measure power consumption. Now that we do, we'd have to take Baxter offline in order to take that measurement. Based on my experience measuring power consumption for other similarly-configured machines (dual hard drives, 4GB RAM, modern CPU, moderate usage), I increased my estimate of Baxter's power consumption from 1A to 1.25A. At $22+10% per Amp, that makes for about a $6/mo increase.
Also, Baxter's bandwidth usage fluctuates (especially with those huge backups via the billable interface to Troy's machine), and bandwidth is billed in increments of $5+10% per 128Kbps@95% or $35+10% per 1Mbps@95%.
Keep in mind that UL is raising our rates - possibly by as much as 20% - and we also have to account for what it costs me to hire accountants and other contractors to make Cernio work, so this upward trend will continue until the recession hits the SF Bay Area tech sector in force. We can decrease costs by moving to a VPS solution at datacenters in SoCal and/or the Silicon Valley. (SF datacenters are the most expensive of our options, by far.) -Graham
I dono if this is the appropriate spot to offer, but I'd be happy to give you free colocation if price matters- I am http://prgmr.com/san-jose-co-location.html - I've got a 100Mbps commit on a gig line, so bandwidth isn't going to hurt me, and I've got my power costs down to something reasonable, so 1.25 amps is not going to kill me. (which modern cpu makes a lot of difference, too... usually a core2duo comes in around .9, a core2quad, around 1.2a) I can also give you a VPS (they cost me almost nothing.) - i recommend to everyone that they have hosting at two different places, or at the very least backups at a place not controlled by their primary hosting provider.

Planning for new hardware purchases
As it stands we don't need another machine, but we could purchase two more SATA drives for our machine (we have two empty slots). We're not anywhere near running out of HD space, though. This is just something that we'll likely do at some point.
