Hi everyone. I
gnome a lot. I'm on
Davis Wiki, and a few others.
I currently serve as Chair of the Wiki Spot Board of Directors.
I've submitted a couple of patches to Wiki Spot, but I'm working on being a more active wiki developer.

2006-12-27 21:04:24 By the way, the "Security" page replaces the "User Groups" page in newer wikis. Chances are the wiki you were looking at when you wrote up some of those docs was an older one. —PhilipNeustrom
2006-12-29 04:15:14 I have been staring at these front page designs for way too long. Back to coding! —PhilipNeustrom
2007-01-21 14:10:05 Just remembered: try and reproduce that wiki settings/css lowercase bug —PhilipNeustrom
2007-02-11 20:28:42 Can you tell me how to reproduce your issue? —PhilipNeustrom
2007-03-29 06:05:47 It's undocumented and might get taken out (people use that character, etc). Let's leave it undocumented and unused :) —PhilipNeustrom
-
Actually, it's a lot easier to type. And you ruined my fun of trying to document an undocumented feature. Maybe we could be like perl/python and use backquotes (``string``).
-
It's easier, but I think it's poor form to have more than one way to do the same thing..
-
You know, I disagree, but that's because I'm a
Perl Programmer.
2007-03-29 22:01:22 `oh no your precious feature has been murdered!` —PhilipNeustrom
2007-04-14 23:10:55 Want to try your hand at some Javascript-y thing? Try and make it so that when you quick edit a paragraph with an image floated to the left or to the right that it doesn't 'pop' downward and instead sits there all inline-like. It's setupEdit in

2007-10-21 21:52:13 Added you to the read/write group for
board. The wiki is set to be non-readable by default, with all the major pages readable. We should switch it over to be readable by default once we have more content on there that's not just links to incorporation documents. —PhilipNeustrom
2008-03-06 17:52:12 Hey, Brent... just since you were testing stuff, you should probably know about
ebg13 as well, which you can feel free to beat up on as well. —JabberWokky
2008-04-04 01:39:31 Brent, I'm considering announcing the release of my wiki on a large talk radio station with a link from their web site. There will be 2000-3000 hits in the first hour. Then slowly it will deveolpe to 300-400 new page creations (+edits) per day. Is this a lot? —Develine
2008-04-04 03:09:37 Develine, that should be totally fine. We can always increase capacity at a later point, too. Let me know if you hit run into any issues. —PhilipNeustrom
2008-05-12 15:51:11 Thanks Brent! I'll submit a Featured Wiki description for
Chico Wiki as soon as possible. —RyanMikulovsky

Here's our featured page text. Please modify as you see fit. Thanks a billion!
Chico Wiki is a small but growing local wiki for the community of
Chico, California, home to
California State University, Chico. One of the very first wikis to take advantage of Wiki Spot’s unique feature set, it has grown considerably with contributions from a few key users who also have been spreading the wiki word throughout the community. Despite its relative youth, the wiki covers many aspects of life in Chico, including
outdoor activities,
local events,
restaurants, and vibrant
music scene. The wiki even features an expansive and entertaining list of local
Urban Legends.
2008-05-17 00:47:18 Awesome, Brent! Thanks for the tip for the help pages. I wasn't thrilled with how they were written, but didn't have the time or patience to undertake rewriting them myself at the moment. I'll definitely take advantage of your rewrites on
Chico Wiki. —StaceyEllis
2008-09-12 23:22:19 Can you help out w/ the thing i noted on
board? —PhilipNeustrom
2008-09-30 03:49:18 I cannot express how much the footer for the "Numbers" entry amuses me. —JabberWokky
2008-10-20 23:07:10 Hey, are you working on the incorporation stuff? I gave you the nolo book, right? —PhilipNeustrom
2009-03-24 20:22:01 Actually the blue line was the river. :) —JabberWokky
2009-03-27 03:53:56 Thanks Brent. Will add. —SteveLambert
2009-06-02 10:19:04 Check out my comment on Front Page/Talk for the rationale for having that list at the top. It's looking toward the "next stage" as Wiki Spot starts having several examples of mature wikis with stable communities. There are several about to or hitting that point. Focusing strongly on one rather than listing several that inspire people to create different types of communities seems limiting. —JabberWokky
2009-09-15 10:34:01 Brent, please email me at: february29@easy.com thx - Waterways —79.65.10.201
2009-09-15 10:55:47 Hi Brent. I'm having some problems with an individual called waterways on the Liverpool wiki's who is needlessly deleting perfectly legitmiate content. When I revert I am being careful to ensure that none of his work is being deleted, yet he repeatedly deletes mine. Can you help me? —keithwyness
2009-09-15 13:00:49 Dear Sir/Madam, as a member of the FACT team who set up this Liverpool wiki site, (I maintain it as part of my job), it would be fantastic if you can shed some light on how exactly to get admin status. This would help stop the vandalism/racism/homophobia which is currently taking place. Please respond ASAP. Thanks, Chris Gibson, FACT team rep. —ChrisGibson
It is essential that ChrisGibbon be given mod rights for the Liverpool Wiki. He is the only person we trust to moderate properly and NOT delete content like the vandal Waterways. Please make Chris mod ASAP - keithwyness
2009-09-16 22:05:44 Brent! It is essential that only random ips be given admin! You must do it! It is VERY SERIOUS, and the first person to speak is always right! ;-P —JabberWokky
2009-09-17 00:16:38 Hi, I left a comment on your
talk page a day or so ago, but only just now, whilst checking for a reply have I noticed this comments section. Sorry if I posted my message in the wrong place, and I would be extremely grateful if you could look into my issue. Regards, —90.195.187.142 —90.195.187.142
2009-10-06 18:10:36 Read the reply that I wrote to your Abuse entry. By the way, in case you missed the connection, that's also the Amy who is corresponding with Philip. —JabberWokky
2009-10-06 18:22:35 Also, nicely handled with JonLi. He emailed me yesterday, and I haven't had a chance to mail him back. I'll try to get a nice "here are some options". You also might want to point out (just in case he doesn't know) that he can retrieve the text if he doesn't have a fully up to date copy (i.e., if he edited it on the wiki as he pasted it in). Just as a friendly "it's not you, it's just the nature of the subject versus the focus of the work as a whole". —JabberWokky
