How about using Twitter to keep folks posted on downtime, planned maintenance, or other issues. During the latest outage this Wiki Addict was frequently trying to refresh a page and keeping others posted via BuffaloBobWiki on Twitter. I found a WikiSpot_Status user on Twitter, but not active for the latest issue. Thanks —BuffaloBob

We actually set this up a week ago or so — I just added you on the twitter account! There is http://twitter.com/wikispot and http://twitter.com/wikispot_status — I think we will probably just use the 'wikispot' one for now. Another good place to check out is the IRC channel that a few die-hards hang out on. —PhilipNeustrom
