2010-06-25 14:45:03 While I don't mind restoring this entry, I do worry that the time between it being edited by well meaning but confused people and somebody else coming along and fixing it may result in some people not to be able to create a wiki. If the entry is locked down, the edit button disappears, which may also make it more likely somebody reads down a paragraph and finds the "create a wiki" form in the first place. While I'm very keen on open editing, this particular page seems to be subject to innocent confusion to the point it is being rendered unusable for a certain percentage of time, which is actually blocking people who are looking to create a new wiki community. Would anybody be opposed to locking it down and simply making an edit group that anybody would be added to upon request? It's a really annoying thing to have to do, but I'm looking at it from a vantage point of trying to make sure people aren't locked out of being able to create their wiki because somebody else accidentally edited this entry thinking it was their new wiki. In other words, making sure the big act (creating a wiki) is always available for people by locking down the small act (editing this one entry). —JabberWokky

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is that. Page is locked down, and I created a wiki using Sarah's account. Worked fine, her account can't edit the entry, but
can create a wiki. (Ah, that feels REALLY nice to lock that durn thing down). -jw
I would have done this a long time ago if I could. The problem is, if you can't edit this page, you can't create a wiki. We'd be locking EVERYONE out of creating a wiki until they have asked permission to create a wiki. —WilliamLewis
2011-03-02 17:33:59 I am trying to create a wiki. When I use the link emailed to me I get the message: Invalid email link. To create a wiki you must follow the link send to your email account.
I saw it more than 30 minutes after it was received. What should I do now?
I tried to start over but received the message:
An email with instructions has been sent to your email address, hjerpe@cal.net. Check your mail!
I wanted to add this comment to the "Create a wiki" page, but didn't see an Edit box or an Add comment box so decided to try this. I am logged in. —SueHjerpe
2011-03-02 18:26:49 I received another email and the link was successful. —SueHjerpe

2011-03-05 16:19:55 Our organization is now defunct, but I don't have the info to disable/take down the wiki. How do I proceed to inactivate the wike and make it unaccessible anymore?
Thank you,

Do you have access to the account that you guys used to create the wiki? If so, log in to that account and go to your wiki. There should be a "wiki settings" link at the top right corner of the page. Click on that and then click on general settings. At the end of the page, there should be a check box that says "delete this wiki". Check that box and submit the form. Your wiki will be gone!
If you don't have access to the account that created the wiki, send an email to contact@wikispot.org . Give us a link to the wiki, the name of the administrative account, and any other detail that would help us verify you are who you say you are. —WilliamLewis
2011-03-17 12:56:19 Please sorry but I have no idea where to ask. Is it possible to terminate existing wiki made here? The Daily Peon wiki is not in use and is only being vandalized and thus should be deleted. Please anyone delete it —VeljkoM

2012-02-21 20:50:06 Hello - is there a way to create pages in my wiki that do NOT have tabs? So I want the page to exist on my wiki site but I don't want it to have a tab. Thanks. —MichaelCarbone
